New law: mandatory notarization of donations for real estate
The new law is designed to protect people from scammers and their fraudulent schemes in the real estate sector. Unfortunately, elderly people often become victims of housing donation transactions. Even close family relationships are not always a guarantee of fulfillment of promised obligations. Therefore, a pensioner or a seriously ill person may end up on the street by signing a donation in exchange for taking care of him. Often people do not understand that by signing their name, they immediately lose their rights to property. It happens that instead of a contract for the sale of housing, scammers can slip a donation. There are also many such situations of deception. Now the notary will be able to explain to all parties to the transaction their rights and the consequences of the decisions taken. As a servant of the law, he will not allow the owner to be misled. Important: the notary is financially responsible for the transaction that he has certified. He may also refuse to sign a donation agreement if there is the slightest suspicion of a scam. The cost of processing legal documents will depend on the amount of tariffs: federal and regional. At the same time, benefits are provided for certain categories of citizens. The law comes into force 30 days after its official publication.
